I Got This Killa Up Insida Me

Just...wow. Could this be a brilliant viral marketing job for the new Hulk flick? Me thinks not. Perhaps this guy should follow Facemob's advice and get his demons out in a diary.

Sometimes Nothing is Better Than Something

I was in the process of preparing and writing a pretty in-depth chicago music post when this mixtape came out... and frankly it warped my fragile little mind. The Mixtape About Nothing's got it all from Lil' Wayne and Bun B features (pretty much standard in hip-hop) to a Seinfeild styling down to sound clips and Seinfeld episodesque track titlings. But the Seinfeld theme doesn't end there as Ten Deep dropped a dope shirt to go along with the tape featuring Frank Costanza's infamous call of "Serenity Now". This dude is serious, im not the first to show Wale love and I can guarentee I wont be the last. This D.C. rapper seems to actually have "it" and he just seems to get it, Wale is that shit.

Flashing Lights

I know I'm late but Joakim Noah saw those flashing lights this weekend but he wasnt at the Glow In The Dark show at the UC. Dude got busted in Gainesville with walkin the streets with a cup of Hen-Dog and a Joint, dude must not have realized he wasn't in Chicago anymore. Either way I guess the big suprise wasn't so much that he had herb or drink on him, but the cops found the J stowed away in a cigarette box. Shame on you Jo for smoking squares, what a bad influence. I guess this comes as a suprise as opposed to what he was actually arrested for because as we all know Joakim loves to "do it big" as he so eloquently put here.

you have no idea what he's talking about... or do you?

Chicago 80's Revival

Bulls to rehire Doug Collins about 20 years after he was fired?

ummm... does jordan and those fire red 3's come with the deal?

i know this little 80's trend going on in Chicago is kinda hot but I think this has taken it a little to far. Also, as far as I remember this is the guy we fired in order to get over the hump. Well at least he's going to be coaching D Rose (maybe with a Chuck Inglish fade). Can the Paxson pull a Bill Parcells and announce the signing of the first pick (ROSE) before the draft so we can kill all the suspense and the possible chance that he'll have a change of heart.

god bless that curl doug was rockin back then too.

Remix Baby

Everyone Nose (Remix) (Feat. CRS & Pusha T) - N.E.R.D.
This is a repost of the Everyone Nose Remix Featuring Kanye, Lupe and Pusha T. This shit is dope... kills the original. Lupe comes the weakest (which is becoming a trend) and Pusha T finishes it (and outperforms the CRS) but this is definitely some fresh product right here.

The infamous :

Lollipop (Remix Featuring Kanye West) - Lil Wayne
The Lil Wayne ft. Kanye West- Lollipop Remix

This shit had hypebeast like buzz surrounding it after video surfaced of Kanye stopping his game of Connect 4 with Jonah Hill in order to cue up this as the fat boy's funeral music. How is Lil' Wayne the best rapper alive when he can't even outrap the best producer turned rapper alive on his own song?

Most Anticipated Movie of the Year?

Okay, this still ranks behind The Dark Knight, but Zach Galifianakis is Next, to use an old ESPN the magazine designation. If you haven't seen/heard his stand-up, I suggest you seek it out immediately. Anyways, this looks like an amazingly absurd satire of "quirky" indie movies like Garden State, and I hope it gets released soon.

all the worlds ills, sittin on chrome 24 inch wheels

People actually admire this fat fuck...

and his girlfriend.

This shit has to stop. People actually look up to Rick Ross and his ass pal Lil' Wayne because they got some cash on hand. This shit is not impressive. Invest the shit, don't burn it. The funny thing is these fools fans will claim that I am hating on them "because they're gettin money". I'm not hating anyone for making their money, but why burn that shit on camera? The least you can do is throw it at a stripper or make it rain in the club, at least someone can reap the benefit of your stupidity.

This video is funny to me too, same shit different stained drawls. Now this video looks old because Juelz and Jim aren't gayed out like they have been lately, although I could be wrong. Either way I love how these dudes sit here braggin about money, cars, women and all that shit on camera, but when that camera pans away what do you see? A room full of men. There isn't a woman in sight. I've noticed a lot of this, main stream rap has become like a big homoerotic yet homophobic fraternity and Jimmy and Juelz are a perfect representation.

the sad thing about all of this is i find these guys all somewhat entertaining when listening to their music. It's when they open their mouth at any other time do they come off as morons.

The David Simon Dialectic

Much snark has been spilt about Buzz Bissinger’s Three Mile Island, but his vein-popping sanctimony offers more than just a cheap laugh window. The indignation felt by Bissinger is not just limited to the Mariotti set, but to “respectable” journalism as well - old guard journalists are atwitter regarding the proletariat blogosphere versus the landed-capital print media. Bissinger studied the journalistic arts for many years, and no doubt busted his balls covering stories, but he fundamentally misses a major draw of online writing, and that is its freedom. Glenn Greenwald proves in many a blog post how corporate media has become so undermined and corroded that it no longer functions in its original adversarial capacity. Mainstream print media has become compromised in its content and ideas by external constrictive forces. As with a political blog like Greenwald’s, sports blogs like Deadspin or Freedarko function as a sort of coup on the people’s part, a toppling of the egoists who preen on our cable television channels, scuttling for fame in lieu of writing anything worth a damn.

Put it this way, where do you think Mencken would be writing today?
